In Alabama, barber school requirements vary depending on the type of license you want to obtain.

For a regular license, you must complete 1,500 hours of training at an accredited barber school.

If you want to obtain a master license, you must complete 3,000 hours of training.

In addition, all licensees must pass a written exam and a skills test. The written exam covers topics such as sanitation, safety, and state laws. The skills test requires candidates to demonstrate their ability to cut hair, shave, and perform other barbering services.

Once you have met all of the requirements and passed the exams, you will be issued a license that is valid for two years.
